When learners contact me to ask a question about a clearly confusing word, it is typically a challenging expression connected to false friends.
A simple definition for a false friend is a word that is often confused with a word in another language because it looks or sounds similar, but has a different meaning.
When I was studying Spanish at University, I made a big boo-boo with the word 'embarazada', which means pregnant, but I thought it meant embarrassed.
