Mr D recently told me that he gets annoyed when he watches American football. I think he meant that he gets bored.
Annoyed could work as well if he were saying that the game is violent and it bothers or disturbs him but what he was saying was that he doesn’t have any interest for the game and he can actually fall asleep a few minutes after kick off.
Moreover what’s interesting is the use of ‘get’ + adjectives to describe a transition. In this case ‘to get’ means ‘ to become’.
